Reality

Sometimes when we finish an operation and then move to the next one we so easily forget how traumatic the events we witness to can be.

Here is a letter to bring us back to reality

Hi,

Tomorrow will the the two year anniversary of my husband's death.  I am thinking about him a lot, but also thinking about all of the amazing people of Cape Town who helped me.

Every time I think back to that horrible day, I am amazed at how professional and caring you and your team were towards me, a complete stranger.  I do not know how I would have made it through without all your support.  I think of all of you often and an 100 percent certain that I will make it back to South Africa some day to thank you in person.
